Nick Raba

Executive Director

Nick-RabaNick has spent the vast majority of his professional working career in Mozambique, arriving during the difficult civil war times of 1988. These were entrepreneurial days and Nick was one of the original founders and shareholders of the Kawena and Kangela Group of Companies operating over 44 stores and shops throughout the Country, employing over 600 staff. In 2009 the Group was sold to Massmart Holdings/Walmart whilst Nick opted to further diversify his business interests within the private sector. Originating from Liverpool in England, Nick is a Mozambican National  having gained his citizenship in 1998. His knowledge, understanding and vast experience within the market and his hands on approach are key elements for success.

During his time in Mozambique Nick helped to found and remains as President of the Environmental Association EOTH (Eyes on the Horizon www.eoth.org) which strives to protect and preserve the National coastline and marine life in Mozambique.

 

Martin Potgieter

Operations Director

martinMartin Potgieter is a well accomplished professional living in the province of Tete for the past five years. With more than 18 years Mozambican working experience accumulated in the fields of procurement, logistical solutions and project management obtained through a number of exposures throughout his career, Martin has successfully managed to dominate and deliver on the varied challenges and obstacles that are continually presented in a trying environment.

Through accurate execution of strategic planning Martin has positioned himself where he can provide cost effective, trustworthy and reliable solutions to every challenge, successfully integrating client needs with professional acumen. His proven ability to execute Greenfield projects in remote areas and commitment to leading operations from ground level ensures completion of the service chain, making him an insurmountable asset to any project and investment.

 

Henk Son

Business Development / GRO

Henk Son

Henk Son was born in Holland and completed his studies in Business Economics before moving to Mozambique in 1987, working for a large Dutch Corporate Business. Originating from a military background having operated in the Dutch Special Forces, Henk was also the owner of one of the first companies active in the Private Sector in the Mozambican security-related industry. Henk has extensive working experience in Mozambique in especially the industrial and security private sector. He was elected for the period  2004 / 2009 as the Vice President for the “Confederation of Business Associations” (CTA). This institution is a large economic non-governmental organization and serves as a platform for dialogue between the Government and the Private Sector aiming at creating a better business environment, protecting and promoting business opportunities through reform of economic policies and regulatory frameworks. During this tenure, Henk built up an even larger network within both Government and Private Sector.

Henk occupied the position as President for the  American / Mozambican Chamber of Commerce / AMCHAM for 10 years. He remains as the Consul for the Czech Republic in Mozambique (14 years), Chair of OSAC Mozambique (Oversees Security Advisory Council) and has also held and still holds several prominent Board positions.

 

Ed Veen

Specialist Maritime Security Consultant

With over 30 years of extensive experience in the maritime security sector including the Dutch Navy, the Dutch Coastguard and the Dutch Ministry of Defence, Ed Veen is more than well placed to train, develop, consult and oversee the most stringent and demanding of maritime offshore security requirements globally.

Ed Veen joined the Dutch Naval forces in 1979 and after his initial education at the Naval Academy became part of the Submarine Service, progressing through the ranks until eventually commanding several submarines of the Dutch Naval Forces.

On completion of his Command, Ed joined the sea training organisation FOST (submarines) in Faslane in the United Kingdom enjoying the position of Command Searider.

In 1997 Ed joined the service flotilla in the Netherlands and after several postings assumed responsibility for the education and training of all submarine personnel in 2000. During this period he was also responsible as “teacher” to train and assess (inter)national candidates for command of a submarine in the renowned “Submarine Command Course”.

In 2002 he assumed command of HNLMS Abraham van der Hulst – a Multi-Purpose Frigate –  and during this period his vessel acted as flagship of the NATO Standing Naval Force Mediterranean in operation `Active Endeavour`.

During 2003 Ed was transferred to the Dutch Ministry of Defence to help to set up a new section within Directorate of Operational Policy of the Defence Staff. In between these responsibilities he also completed his master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA).

In May 2006 he was promoted to Captain and appointed as the first Commanding Officer of Landing Platform Dock HNLMS Johan de Witt – An amphibious transport ship with a capacity to carry in to theatre 500 marines, 6 landing craft, 6 helicopters and an extensive command and control facility.

From September 2008 Captain Veen established the Maritime Warfare Centre and became its first Director whilst in 2011 he again took command of LPD2 to conduct a coastguard and counterdrug operation in the Caribbean. This was his last tour of duty with the Dutch Navy.

Ed now extensive experience led him to become the Director of the Netherlands Coastguard in 2012 and during his term in office, he developed for the Coastguard a new concept of operations (Vision Coastguard 2020), funded budget for execution and implemented a new organization model to cope with the ever-developing, changing demands of the environment.

After his career in the Navy and his retirement from the Coast Guard, Ed Veen joined Damen Shipyards in December 2015 as an advisor and has now formed part of the strategical Damen Maritime Security Team for Mozambique.

Alex Sambo

Engineer

Alex commenced his engineering studies at Central Johannesburg College in 2004 and graduated as an aircraft maintenance engineer in 2013 through Denel Technical Academy (TETA). Alex boasts vast experience in the aviation industry having worked remote areas of Africa for humanitarian activities in Uganda, Congo, Rwanda, Sudan and Chad, supporting companies such as MSF, UNHCR, World Vision, Save the Children and United States army for logistical purposes in the Central Republic. Alex returned to his native Mozambique in 2014 looking for further challenges at home and spent 2 years working as an engineer for the National Airlines LAM.

Passionate with innovative ideas coupled with the hunger and desire to achieve and succeed, Alex is assisting IFS to pave the way to better safety standards in the oil and gas industries.

 

Antonio Moiane

Group Financial Director

Antonio-MoianeAntonio is Executive Logistics Group Financial Director and member of the senior executive team. Graduating in Management by Faculdade de Economia at the Eduardo Mondlane University in 2011 and a licensed Accountant through the Ministry of Finance, Antonio recently completed his MBA in Business Management and is an integral cog of the Executive Logistics Management Team.

Managing accounting and financial control functions, budget monitoring and establishing financial strategies for the profitable long-term growth of the business, Antonio also supports and assists strategies to guide the Group key business initiatives. Through periods of change and growth Antonio effective coordinating of corporate finance and management of company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity and acquisitions have been vital to the Group continuing development.

 

 

Neusa Adolfo Miambo

Human Resources and Legal Advisor

Neusa-MiamboNeusa is the Group Human Resources and Legal Director whose dynamic, hands on approach has been a vital factor in the development of this key department.

With more than 7 year experience in Human Resources Management and legal affairs, coupled with intricate knowledge and understanding of Governmental Institution operations, Neusa is well placed to oversee the Group development as the management of a diverse workforce expands, fulfilling the increasing need of human resource planning, recruitment, selection and training. Her understanding and belief is clear in the fact that people make and develop the strength of the company with particular emphasis on local content skills development.

Neusa recently completed her licensing in Judicial Sciences in the Technical University of Maputo.

 

Nelma de Sousa

Principal Administrative Specialist

nelmaWith an extensive career within the Procurement and Administrative sectors since 2001, Nelma has an in depth wealth of experience in understanding the need of providing logistical solutions for multiple disciplines. An Integral asset of the Executive Logistics Management team and Group of Companies, Nelma exemplary professional demeanor, leadership and commitment are the key components of her success and growth.

Nelma is currently completing her licensing in Economy and Education at Universidade Pedagógica in Maputo

 

Nelson Novela

Senior Accountant

nelsonNelson Novela is the Group Senior Accountant forming a crucial part of the backbone of the young, executive, dynamic Finance Division.   Currently completing his licensing in Accounting and Auditory in ISCAM – Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Auditoria de Moçambique, Nelson has the ability to constantly adapt to challenging situations with high quality customer service and expertise to a diverse portfolio of clients through a deep understanding of accounting concepts and business practices.
